OCHS Thrift Store Mural
Clean Hands was the winner at Food for Thought and will be the artist group responsible for painting the next mural here in Okmulgee. Justin Baney was one hand to give the presentation and is shown here with Julie Roberds and Heather Sumner as he accepts both the check and their congratulations. Baney and co-owner Aaron Whisner will be meeting with the design committee soon to design the mural. See inside for more pictures from the Food for Thought event.
Aaron Whisner is the co-founder of Clean Hands, a Tulsa based mural and design crew. Aaron has been actively painting since the mid 90’s and has roots in graffiti and street art scenes. He states his inspiration is drawn from hand painted signage, street textures and typesets.
Aaron uses bold imagery to capture public attention while maintain a balance with the surrounding environments.
“As a 2004 graduate of OSUIT, it has been a goal of mine to come back to Okmulgee and paint a mural in the historic downtown,” Aaron said.
