The Commerce Building
Built in 1921 by the Commerce Investment Company, the Commerce Building is an 8-story office building facing Okmulgee's downtown square.
The building is currently vacant and being refurbished. In addition to its offices and apartments on the upper floors, its ground floor has housed many businesses at various times, including J.C. Penny, the Kress Company and a variety of shops and drug stores.
Like many of Okmulgee's historic buildings, the Commerce Building was designed by Leon Senter and is a part of the Okmulgee Downtown Historic District.
