Homemade Ranch Dressing

½ cup mayonnaise

½ cup sour cream

½ cup buttermilk

¾ - 1 tsp dried dill weed, to taste

½ tsp dried parsley

½ tsp dried chives

¼ tsp onion powder

½ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp fine sea salt

¼ tsp black pepper

freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste approximately 1-3 tsps., adjust to taste

Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream and milk until smooth. Add spices and whisk until combined. Add lemon and whisk again. Pour into a jar and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve. This dressing will keep in the refrigerator for a couple weeks if it lasts that long!

Homemade Thousand Island Dressing

½ cup mayonnaise

2 Tbsps. ketchup

2 Tbsps. sweet pickle relish

2 tsps. finely diced onion

¼ tsp finely minced garlic (about half of a small clove)

1 tsp white vinegar

tsp salt, to taste

2-3 dashes Tabasco sauce, optional

Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix well. Taste and add additional ingredients if desired. Refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld. Serve.  Keeps refrigerated for 3-4 weeks.

Homemade French Dressing

1 cup sugar

cup ketchup

½ cup avocado oil

½ cup vinegar

½ tsp salt, to taste

½ tsp celery seed

½ tsp chili powder

½ tsp dried mustard

½ tsp onion powder

tsp paprika

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Creamy French Dressing

½ cup mayonnaise

½ cup ketchup

½ cup avocado oil

cup apple cider vinegar

cup granulated sugar

1 small yellow onion, roughly chopped

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp onion powder

¼ tsp sea salt

½ tsp black pepper, to taste

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.  Taste and add more vinegar if you want it tangier, or more sugar if you want it sweeter.  Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 2 weeks.  Makes about 2 1/2 cups.

Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing

cup Dijon mustard

¼ cup honey

¼ cup apple cider vinegar

¼ tsp salt, to taste

¼ tsp ground black pepper, to taste optional

1/4 cup + 2 Tbsps. extra virgin olive oil 

In a small bowl, whisk together mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, kosher salt, and pepper.  Slowly whisk in olive oil until dressing is smooth.  Use right away or store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Shake or re-whisk before using.

Caesar Dressing

1 cup mayonnaise

¼ cup fresh lemon juice

4 Tbsps. grated Parmesan cheese

2 Tbsps. spicy brown mustard

2 tsps. Worcestershire sauce

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper. I usually use just a sprinkle of salt and up to a teaspoon of pepper depending on how I feel on a given day.

Blue Cheese Dressing

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sour cream

1 Tbsp milk

2 Tbsps. white wine vinegar

¼ tsp Worcestershire Sauce

½ tsp sugar

¼ tsp salt

½ tap black pepper, to taste

tsp garlic powder

½ cup crumbled blue cheese

Combine mayonnaise, sour cream and milk in small bowl and mix until smooth. Stir in vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, pepper and garlic powder until well blended. Fold in cheese.  Transfer to container with tight-fitting lid. Chill until serving time. Stir well before serving.

Copycat Olive Garden Italian Dressing

cup white vinegar

½ cup vegetable oil

¼ cup olive oil

1 tsp mayonnaise

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp sugar

¼ tsp pepper

¼ tsp salt

½ tsp Italian seasoning

1 packet Italian salad dressing mix

1 tsp grated Parmesan

tsp lemon Juice

1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum, optional.  This is not necessary, but it is a thickening agent and will help keep the oil from separating quite so bad. 

4 Tbsps. water

Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Chill until ready to serve. Shake or stir well before serving.  So easy!
