Patriotic Party Foods
I am not a fan of hot dogs, but I love this dog. It combines two of my favorite foods crab and mac and cheese!
Hot dogs, I like the turkey hot dogs, but use whichever you prefer.
Hot dog buns
Macaroni and cheese
Lump crabmeat, drained and flaked
Old Bay Seasoning
Prepare mac and cheese. I like homemade and put a recipe in the May 30th issue if you want to use it or buy your favorite box version and prepare according to the package directions. Grill hot dogs over medium heat for 3-5 minutes on each side or however you like them. Place hot dogs in buns, top with mac and cheese and crab meat. Dust with Old Bay Seasoning and enjoy!

In a blender or in a bowl using a hand mixer, combine milk, strawberries and cream. Strawberries are optional. If you don’t want the fruit leave it out. Red, White and Boozy Strawberries
1 pound fresh strawberries
2 cups light rum
1 cup melted white chocolate
blue sugar sprinkles
Wash berries. Place in a jar or bowl. Pour rum over berries. Let soak for 24 hours. The longer the soak, the more alcohol strawberries will absorb. Feel free to change the soak time, but at least give it 8-10 hours. Drain liquid from berries. Pat dry. They must be dry or it will ruin the chocolate. Place sprinkles into a shallow bowl. Dip berries into melted candy. Let excess drip off. Dip into blue sprinkles. Set on a wax paper lined baking sheet to dry. Serve within 24 hours.

1 can Cherry 7-Up
1 cup white Sobe Pina Colada flavored drink (this is non-alcoholic)
1 cup blue Gatorade of your choosing
Pour the Cherry 7-UP 1/3 of the way full. Add Grenadine. (Grenadine gives it the bright red color) Fill glass with ice. Add Pina Colada drink another 1/3 of glass. Pour slowly so they don’t blend. Top off with blue Gatorade. Garnish with cherries and a festive straw if desired.
Note: You can do this with any drink options you would like, including alcohol. The important part is the sugar content in the drinks. The drink with the most sugar has to be on bottom or it will just end up settling. Then you just go up with the next highest sugar content and finish with the drink with the least amount of sugar.
